Hello!
We’re still in the process of setting up Foodsoft and evaluating how well it matches our needs. We tried to import one of our suppliers with > 8000 articles and keep running into timeouts (after several minutes) when trying to create a new order for this supplier. Is this expected behaviour, i.e. Foodsoft only works with a few hundred articles, or should it also work with larger amounts and there might be something wrong with our setup?
We’re just switching from an approach of “write your order on a piece of paper” to a digital approach and it would be nice to still have access to the suppliers’ whole inventory. If this cannot be done using Foodsoft, how do other Foodcoops solve this?
Thank you!
Hi! Just a quick response: in all the foodcoops I’ve been involved in, members selecting from >8000 articles was considered too much, especially if there is a need to ‘fill boxes’. So I’ve never seen per supplier more than a couple of hundreds of products. But large suppliers often have this many articles, the way to go is using the Shared database. Then sharedlists syncs products with the supplier, and the foodcoops syncs with sharedlists only those articles that are in use within the foodcoop.
