Foodsoft 3.3.0 and 4.0.0 released

Dear foodsoft users,

I’m happy to announce that Foodsoft 3.3.0 has been released. Foodsoft is online software for running a non-profit foodcoop (a collective do-it-yourself supermarket) with a product catalog, order cycle, accounting and tasks.

What’s new?

  • New improvements the stock section. (@JuliusR)
  • New receive screen for redistributing articles when the order is closed. Members with orders and finance permission are now able to change the amount received, and redistribute that over the members. (#222, @wvengen, @JuliusR)
  • Amounts received by ordergroups can now be edited directly in the ordergroup and article list. (#255, @wvengen)
  • Redesigned article edit dialog. (#218, @wvengen)
  • Do not offer to add deleted articles in the balancing screen. (#240, @JuliusR)
  • Work nicely with browsers remembering passwords. (#231, @wvengen @JuliusR)
  • Add RSS feed for wiki updates (navigate to Wiki → All pages). (#225; @fsmanuel @wvengen)
  • Clearer error message when a wiki page contains a syntax error. (#230, @JuliusR)
  • More graceful response on access denied errors. (#244, @robwa)
  • Touch devices are now better supported. (#357, @wvengen)
  • Added some missing translations.
  • Other small fixes.
Foodsoft 4.0.0 is released simultaneously with 3.3.0 and contains one additional change: an upgrade of the Ruby on Rails framework to version 4.0. Because this is such a large change, please test this version and see if it functions correctly for your setup. It is advised to wait for Foodsoft 4.1.0 to use in production. In terms of features, Foodsoft 3.3.0 and 4.0.0 are completely the same.

I’d like to thank all developers, translators and testers for their contributions.

Hope this improves the daily activities of your foodcoops another bit, and please feel free to respond if it does (or doesn’t)

Best,

  • Willem
