Hi everyone,
I am part of a small food co-op in our town and we are working on improving our sourcing strategies for organic produce from local farmers. We currently have a few partnerships but we would love to expand and ensure we are supporting the community in the most sustainable way.
I would like to ask fellow co-op members here: What is been your experience in building strong relationships with local farmers: ?? Do you have any tips for vetting new suppliers or ensuring the produce stays affordable while still paying farmers fairly: ?? Also, how do you manage logistics like delivery schedules, especially when working with small scale growers: ??
I am especially interested in hearing about any challenges you have faced and how you overcame them. Any advice on creating transparent agreements or handling seasonal variations would be super helpful !!
Looking forward to hearing your insights. I have already read this https://www.localline.co/blog/guide-to-farm-collectives-food-coops-food-hubs-datastage/ it helped me alot but now looking for more tips and advice.
Thanks in advance,
With Regards,
Derek Theler
