I call it Costco without the membership fee. Not a charity, not a government program, not for profit. Simply this: private individuals leverage their money to buy food at wholesale prices and divide it up. It is called SHARE and in my region (washington DC) it is administered by the Catholic Church, but, again, it is not a charity. There are no fees to participate, and you can opt out any time you wish. I would post a link, but not sure if this forum allows that.
